ISC2 Authorized Instructor Program Information
All ISC2 Authorized Instructors are independent contractors and are required to sign acknowledgement of and abide by all policies and guidelines within the ISC2 Authorized Instructor Handbook.
Below is an overview of the Desired Qualifications of an ISC2 Authorized Instructor:
- Be an ISC2 member in good standing
- Hold ISC2 certification(s) corresponding to the ISC2 certification course being taught
- Have 5+ years teaching experience conducting technical training in corporate/ academic classrooms, small groups, or live online environments
- Have not have participated in the preparation of any ISC2 exam-related content/ISC2 exam item writing for the past two (2) years
- Be an Information Security Professional with significant (15+ years) experience and background in cyber security
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or technology or cybersecurity, and/or 4-6 years equivalent experience
Candidates accepted to the ISC2 Authorized Instructor program are required to complete all required steps of the Instructor Onboarding program, including required observations and co-teaching, to be eligible for designation as an ISC2 Authorized Instructor.

From time to time you may have questions regarding your examination score or other decisions made by ISC2 regarding your membership status. Listed below are the most common questions ISC2 receives regarding examination scoring and other processes:
- Examination Score Review: No re-scoring of your examination is available. For questions regarding exam content, please fill out our form. As a reminder, public discussion of specific exam items or content is not allowed due to the NDA and ISC2 Code of Ethics.
- Have you been contacted by a proxy test service? Please report exam fraud or cheating in our Exam Fraud Form.
- Continuing Professional Education (CPE): All questions regarding your submission of CPE credits or ISC2’s CPE requirements should follow the process detailed in our Certification Maintenance Handbook.
- Reinstatement of Certification: Fill out our form to contact Member Services to discuss the steps needed to reactivate your certification.
