In our previous blog, we looked at how to stay motivated and on track to get Certified in Cybersecurity in 30 days. Now let’s look at how to prepare for the big day. Here’s how to tie up any loose ends and prepare so you’re bright-eyed and ready for your exam.
If you still have some lingering questions, watch one of our CC Exam Ready webinars, where our expert panels answer common inquiries about the course content and exam. Another great resource to check out for last-minute study tips is our Exam Prep Hacked webinar. For additional support, check in with our CC Study Group for insights from your peers that could help you understand the material better.
More practical advice as your exam day approaches:
- Place your IDs somewhere you won’t forget it — anyone without ID will not be admitted. View list of acceptable forms of ID.
- A few days before your exam, map the best route to your Pearson VUE testing center. Do a practice run so you’re sure you know where you’re going. Double check your route hours ahead of your exam to factor in street traffic or public transit delays.
- Replicate the exam center environment during practice tests.
- Avoid over-preparing the day of your exam. Get there early and take a walk, get some fresh air and clear your head. Don’t try to cram at the last minute.
Keep in mind, your motivation may fluctuate — and that’s OK. Find what works best for you to maintain a positive and focused attitude as you prepare for exam day.
Pro Tip: Need more time to prepare and want to reschedule
your exam? Cancel online at least 48 hours prior to your exam (see
instructions below) or
call
Pearson VUE at least 24 hours prior to your exam. Please note that if you
used a free promo code to book your CC exam, you must reschedule or cancel
if you can’t make your test appointment, or your free exam code will no
longer be valid and you will need to pay for your next exam registration.
To cancel or reschedule your Pearson VUE exam online, log in to your ISC2
account and complete the
ISC2 Exam Account Information form.
IMPORTANT: You must enter your information exactly as it appears on the
identification (ID) you will present at the test center. After you submit
the completed form, you will be redirected to Pearson VUE’s website. Once
there, navigate to “View an upcoming test center appointment.” Find your
exam and view, reschedule or cancel.
You’ve got this! Take a deep breath and just think of all the opportunities that will open up once you’re CC-certified. Download the ISC2 Exam Action Plan for policies and testing guidelines and details on what to expect heading into your exam. You’ll also find resources and more pro tips to move forward with confidence.
In our next blog, we’ll go over what happens after you pass the CC exam and how to complete the certification process. You’ll also find tips for taking the exam a second time, if needed.
