In collaboration with IBM and Coursera, ISC2 recently launched a new
dual certificate/certification program to help kickstart cyber careers.
The
IBM and ISC2 Cybersecurity Specialist Professional Certificate
combines elements of the
Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
certification with the IBM Cybersecurity Specialist Professional
Certificate. The opportunity enables cyber newcomers to receive
certificates of completion from both IBM and ISC2.
The demand for cybersecurity practitioners has never been greater. ISC2 research found that the global cybersecurity workforce needs to grow 73% to effectively defend organizations’ critical assets. This program’s hands-on experience is designed to cover the in-demand skills that employers are actively seeking in entry-level cybersecurity specialists. By taking advantage of this cyber training opportunity, participants can open the door to a career in cybersecurity equipped with the practical skills and knowledge needed to become job-ready.
In less than four months, participants will learn the best practices for authentication, encryption and device security to build a solid foundational knowledge of data security. The certification process includes projects that help to develop a working knowledge of security threats, breaches, malware, social engineering and other attack vectors using the industry’s commonly used tools.
Completing the certificate will empower new cyber talent with the skills needed to safeguard an organization’s infrastructure, network, applications and data. With a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, participants will emerge ready to face today’s cyber climate and help build a safe and secure cyber world.
Once certified, participants will be ready to apply their new knowledge and skills to implement a robust security plan to protect systems, data and networks from malicious actors. They will take with them a portfolio of projects to share with future employees, along with access to resources for job searches, including interview preparation.
With this foundation, participants are encouraged to become ISC2 Candidates and register to sit for the CC Exam at no additional cost.
