Ahead of ISC2 Security Congress 2024, we take a closer look at and celebrate the winners of this year’s Global Achievement Awards, as well as encouraging you to consider deserving cybersecurity professionals for 2025.

Harold F. Tipton Lifetime Achievement Award

Named after Harold F. Tipton, CISSP, known as the “George Washington of information security,” this award recognizes members for their lifelong contributions to the advancement of information security and the profession by serving, over the long term, with sustained excellence and distinction throughout their entire cybersecurity career.

  • Americas: Teresa Fryer, CISSP, HCISSP, Chief, Security and Data Integration Staff, Administrative Office of U.S. Courts - Teresa Fryer has been recognized for her lifelong dedication to advancing the profession of cybersecurity, her exemplary leadership, and her profound impact on the cybersecurity community. Her infectious passion for her work, coupled with her exemplary leadership and mentorship, has empowered others to strive for excellence in their own cybersecurity endeavors.
  • Asia-Pacific: Leonard Ong, CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, ISSAP, ISSMP, Director, Cyber Defence Group, Synapxe - Leonard Ong has received this award for his leadership and contributions to the cybersecurity community. He has received numerous awards for his professional achievements and volunteer service. He has also inspired many leaders to continue in paying forward for the benefits of future cybersecurity and technology professionals.
  • EMEA: H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, The Head of UAE Cybersecurity Council, The UAE Cybersecurity Council - For his exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to advancing cybersecurity and the profession, Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti. His instrumental role in propelling the UAE to a commendable 5th place in the Global Cybersecurity Index is a testament to his impactful leadership and deep-seated commitment to advancing the cybersecurity landscape.

James R. Wade ISC2 Volunteer Service Award

This award recognizes volunteers who have provided sustained and valuable service to ISC2. Named in memory of James R. Wade, an esteemed, long-time contributor to ISC2, this award is ISC2’s privilege to honor his legacy.

  • Jay Ferron, CISSP, Principal at Interactive Security Training - For his impactful volunteer work with the American Red Cross, where he assisted in disaster responses, including the 9/11 World Trade Center attack, Jay Ferron has been chosen for this year’s award. He was instrumental with providing a temporary communications system for government agencies during the crisis, which involved affixing satellites to large trucks and vans and connecting them to a system that provided an effective means of communications.

ISC2 Inclusion Impact Awards

Recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to driving a more diverse workforce in the global cybersecurity community by initiating and leading actions to remove barriers and positively impact the diversity, equity and inclusion of the cyber profession.

  • Americas: Francisca Boateng, Candidate of ISC2, Director of Operations, Slamm Technologies - Francisca Boateng has been recognized for her exemplary and exceptional leadership proactively leading initiatives that promote DEI in cybersecurity and IT in general. Through scholarships, trainings, and nonprofit work, her actions have resulted in the removal of barriers and the creation of opportunities for the underrepresented to thrive in this field.
  • Asia-Pacific: Ricson Singson Que, CC, CEO, SQrity Consulting - Ricson Singson Que has demonstrated visionary leadership, extensive expertise and dedication to enhancing cybersecurity in the Philippines, which has solidified his position at the forefront of the field.
  • EMEA: Zoé Cuisin, Head of Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance, Bouygues Construction - Zoé Cuisin has demonstrated leadership in uniting teams and driving them forward. Zoé is involved in local associations to promote gender diversity and encourages girls to embrace IT and Tech careers.
