It’s time to engage! ISC2 members are needed to help build the future of cybersecurity by providing feedback to the Unified Body of Knowledge project.

ISC2 is seeking members to engage in the next step of the Unified Body of Knowledge. The diversity of thought and activities of cyber leaders like you are making the difference to the future of the industry through developing a compendium of cyber knowledge.

This revolutionary project began in 2024 and has benefited from the engagement of more than 500 cybersecurity professionals in more than 50 countries. ISC2 members are building a collaborative global network with the intention of reviewing existing Common Bodies of Knowledge (CBKs) and utilizing the latest technology to build a future-proof, growing resource for all.

The request for comment (RFC) phase, taking a look at the combined resource, is now open. We are taking a tiered approach to ensure that ISC2 members have the opportunity to submit their interest to participate.

At this time, internal stakeholders and the Unified Body of Knowledge taskforce are submitting comments. On May 2, past project volunteers will join the RFC process, followed by a final wave of new volunteers. Submit your interest today and access all upcoming opportunities to participate in this milestone project, while also earning CPE credits. Unified Body of Knowledge project volunteers will get a sneak peek into what’s next for ISC2 Members, Associates, Candidates and the greater cyber community.

About the Unified Body of Knowledge

The Unified Body of Knowledge will be an accurate, well-sourced and accessible online knowledge base that supports the needs of professionals from beginner to expert.
The Unified Body of Knowledge will transition ISC2 from scheme-dependent ISC2 Common Bodies of Knowledge (CBKs) to a single corpus. It will support ISC2’s knowledge management strategy from foundational to advanced concepts. It will also refresh all current ISC2 CBKs, resulting in:

  • New insights for innovation and the improvement of knowledge management methods
  • Stronger networks to facilitate idea exchange and diversity of thought
  • Retiring dated or obsolete ideas and practices
  • A collaboration boost between ISC2, its members and volunteers
