Meet ISC2 Instructor Richard Bellwood

Richard Bellwood, CISSP

Mr. Bellwood is an independent Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Information Security management consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in the Federal Government with a solid background of Federal Government organizations and of the development of policies and plans related to the management of emergencies at the national level.

A Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) since 1996, he has worked as Senior Disaster Recovery Analyst and as a Project Manager of Business Continuity Planning since 1994.

His major accomplishments included the design and implementation of several Canadian federal governments’ nation-wide Crisis Management, BCP policies, plans, programs, Business Impact Analysis projects, Disaster Recovery Planning, and the development of BCP Training programs. In a similar capacity, he also worked for a private sector consulting company in McLean, Virginia as a Project Manager/ Contingency Planner providing consultant services in the field of business continuity/disaster recovery and information security to a wide range of industries including healthcare, insurance, finance, and manufacturing companies.

He has also served as a member of the Treasury Board, Government Security Policy Working Group responsible for developing the Business Continuity Program Operational Standard and the Treasury Board sponsored course for Government BCP personnel.

Since 2000, Mr. Bellwood as a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) has instructed over 250 CISSP Review Seminars to private and public-sector professionals. He has been a guest speaker at the several conferences in North America, Europe, and Asia.
